Wild, romantic, diverse: The Saalachtaler High Trail is a doorway to the most beautiful aspects of this region. On the first stage from Saalfelden to Leogang, you are accompanied by the gently babbling waters of the Leoganger Ache. In the footsteps of miners of old, the second day leads through Schwarzleotal, over the Spielbergtörl, to the Reiterkogel. From here, you can shorten your journey back into Glemmtal valley with a ride on the gondola lift. The third day begins and ends with a lift ride, too. You will enjoy a hike from the Zwölferkogel along the Panoramaweg to the Schattberg. The views of the 3,000ers of the Hohe Tauern as well as the peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps are absolutely unique. The fourth stage takes you along the Saalachtaler Höhenweg towards the mouth of the valley and Viehhofen, before the final day brings your hike to an exhilarating conclusion: After your hike to the Biberg, you will be able to enjoy an exciting ride on the alpine coaster back down to Saalfelden.

Touring the Saalachtal between Saalfelden, Maishofen and Maria Alm, intrepid summiteers conquer mountains of the Pinzgauer Grasberge, such as the Sausteige or Hundstein. Alternatively, you can also complete the 3 daily stages closer to the valley itself. Whether a 6- or 3-day tour - the Saalachtaler Rundweg always serves up picturesque scenery: The Zeller See and Ritzensee lie at your feet like glistening diamonds, the snow-covered 3,000ers of the Hohe Tauern are a radiant white, while the mighty rock faces of the Steinernes Meer massif make an utterly imposing impression. The last 3 daily stages, from Hintermoos via Dienten and Hinterthal to Saalfelden, are easier, leisurely hikes - the ideal conclusion to this tour.
