Even though the season is entering the home straight, the Saalfelden Leogang bike region is far from being out of steam. On the contrary: the Biketember Festival will be kicking things up a notch from 15 to 17 September. The main protagonists on the three days of the event are the season finale of the iXS European Downhill Cup, the SCOTT Junior Trophy, the VIGINTISIX Best Line Contest as well as a whole host of supporting programmes all about biking.
iXS European Downhill Cup enters the final at the "Speedster"
On Sunday, 17 September, Europe's best downhillers will have to give it their all. On the "Speedster" World Cup course in the Bikepark Leogang, they will be racing over steep sections, tight bends, roots and high-speed passages towards the end of the season - at least as far as the iXS European Downhill Cup is concerned. The starting signal for the last race of the season will be given at 12.30 pm and with it the decision as to who can score points and win the overall standings. With local hero Valentina Höll and Markus Pekoll, two red-white-red champions will also be in the mix on the bike.
Youngsters prove themselves at the SCOTT Junior Trophy
But the next generation can also prove their talent on Sunday, 17 September. The SCOTT Junior Trophy will be stopping off in Saalfelden Leogang for the fourth time on this day. It sends kids between the ages of three and 16 on a varied circuit around the Ritzensee lake in Saalfelden. In addition to gaining their first racing experience, the main focus here is on having fun with mountain biking.
Supporting programme with VIGINTISIX Best Line Contest
The VIGINTISIX Best Line Contest awaits on Saturday, 16 September. Participants will try to impress with their best tricks, whips and most creative lines in Bikepark Leogang in order to claim victory at the end of the day.
In addition, the Biketember Festival will once again have some highlights in terms of side events in 2017. For example, you can browse the Team & Expo Area on the three days of the event or party at the legendary Ö3 Disco with Dutch deep house duo DEEPEND on Saturday.
