The big event highlight will then follow at Whitsun with a new edition of the Out of Bounds Festival.
After a fantastic winter season, the Leoganger Bergbahnen are now reopening their Asitzbahn to bikers with the Opening Weekend from 10 May to 12 May: four new lines and trails for all ability levels, two of them in the bike park, and a pump track on 5000 square metres are set to further enhance the biking experience over the course of the summer. Discounts on day and multi-day tickets are available for the opening weekend. The pre-opening of a line in April was also a positive experience for those responsible: "The APRIL, APRIL campaign went well. Both bikers and skiers took advantage of the spring skiing and biking. All the important ingredients were there - the weather was beautiful, the Man II slope was perfectly shaped and the piste conditions were ideal," says Kornel Grundner, Managing Director of Leoganger Bergbahnen.
First event highlight: Out of Bounds Festival
One line in the bike park will once again take centre stage in just under four weeks' time: we're talking about the Speedster World Cup course, which will take centre stage at the Out of Bounds Festival from 7 to 9 June with the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup. With a length of 2.3 kilometres and an average gradient of 20.7%, the most challenging course in the bike park is a combination of steep sections in the fall line, rough root carpets, tight bends and fast passages - in short: a World Cup course on which the best in their field can put their skills to the test.
Home World Cup for Vali Höll
While Saalfelden Leogang is preparing for the appearance of the world's best downhillers, the new World Cup season has already started in Maribor, Slovenia. Local heroine Valentina Höll delivered another brilliant performance: once again she dominated her junior class in Maribor and is now of course also looking forward to the Out of Bounds Festival in Leogang as the only World Cup stop on home soil.
Extensive supporting programme
In addition to action-packed downhill sport, the Out of Bounds Festival in Leogang also has a lot to offer outside the event: With freestyle motocross shows, the large Team & Expo Area and a live concert with the Californian band "John Diva & The Rockets of Love" on Saturday evening, the exceptional event has a varied programme in store and is of course also the dress rehearsal for the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships, which will take place in Saalfelden Leogang in September 2020.
