Peaceful Water at the Asitz

Find out all about water. The crystal clear reservoir above the mid station of the Asitz lift is nestled beautifully in the surrounding mountain scenery. The sight of the light reflecting on the water with the Leogang mountains in the background has a soothing effect. The Kneipp area offers you the chance of sensing cold water on your body, the stepping stones are wonderful for practising balance, and the path around the lake invites you to take a stroll, then relax on the loungers on the lakeside or enjoy the remarkable view from the amazing floating platform. 

The Leogang Lift Company has been working since 2015 in collaboration with the Culture Association Freiraum in offering artists the opportunity of displaying their work in a unique environment. The Art Trail wends its way from the top station of the Asitz lift (1800m) down to the mid station. There are various stations along the way offering beautiful views into the valley and providing information and insight into the selected works of art. This year, for the first time, at the "Stilles Wasser" (reservoir with Kneipp facility) above the mid station of the Asit lift there are resumés of the artists featured on the trail since its inception in 2015

Hiking Trail of Arts

The Störhölzer are a project of the HTL Saalfelden college with artistic support from Hans-Peter Profunser, initiated with him by the Leoganger Bergbahnen. The Störhölzer are supposed to represent a disturbing factor in an otherwise seemingly idyllic landscape. The sculpture presents a contrast to the soft ambience of the setting. They are not meant to blend smoothly into their surroundings. Visitors should be inspired to think. Is so much change and technology could for the mountain?

Find peace in the chapel This chapel by the “quiet waters of the Asitz” is the perfect place to find your inner balance and treat your body to some peace, away from everyday life. Simply sit down, soak up the energy of the place and let the beauty of nature take effect on you.
