Award-winning violinist, mandolinist and composer Clément Janinet calls his projects “Litany of the Peaks” or “O.U.R.S.”, which sounds like the French bear but means “Ornette under the repetitive sky.” The Didier Lockwood student also lives out his interest in “French blues”, contemporary music and African or South American folklore alongside Han Bennink, Richard Bona and Mark Tuner. Maybe best to call it minimalist/meditative free jazz with a groove and just look forward to the virtuosic diversity of this young master, who is now – after over 700 concerts in 35 countries – playing in Saalfelden for the first time.
