Leïla Martial & Valentin Ceccaldi
This event has already taken place."Fil"
France
Leïla Martial – voice
Valentin Ceccaldi – cello
Boris Darley – sound
In their "search for an imaginary folklore," singer Leïla Martial and cellist and electronic musician Valentin Ceccaldi abduct themselves into the "Garden of Delights." After all, “Le jardin des délices” is the name of their debut album, named after a paradisian-dystopian triptych by Hieronymus Bosch. There, the two French stars cultivate enchanting and dreamlike sound-plants from melodies by Mal Waldron, Henry Purcell, Manuel de Falla, Gabriel Fauré, the Beatles, or Chansonniere Barbara. "We are careful," they say, "to capture the fleeting beauty of the smallest sound, but are always ready to get rid of it."
