Maria Faust - saxophone, pedals
Saxophonist and composer Maria Faust is best known for her award-winning large contemporary jazz ensembles, including Sacrum Facere, Machina and Jazz Catastrophe. She is one of Estonia's most celebrated musicians and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honours. Her latest album "MOnuMENT" was voted one of the best solo albums of 2022 by New York City Jazz Records and is a contemporary tapestry of the saxophonist's reflections and observations, captured in and inspired by a castle on her home island of Saaremaa.
An expressive, melancholic and at the same time modern project that Maria Faust will present not only with the saxophone, but also using electronic pedals and effects in the Saalfelden parish church.
