The third edition of the ‘Nordic Park Experience’ in Saalfelden Leogang was once again a complete success. On the two Sundays in February, around 1500 visitors were transported into a Nordic lifestyle with a combination of an extensive range of sports, typical cuisine and a tailored entertainment programme.
Following the successful editions in 2017 and 2018, Saalfelden Leogang hosted the ‘Nordic Park Experience’ for the third time this February. Over two days, the event put the spotlight on the far north and the lifestyle there - in terms of sport, cuisine and entertainment. A concept that attracted more interested visitors to the ‘Nordic Park’ at Lake Ritzensee this year than ever before.
Wide range of winter sports for young and old
180 children took up the challenge of the ‘Kids Winter Games’ on each of the two days of the event. In biathlon, curling, winter golf and the like, the youngest children were able to
to prove their talent, but above all their enjoyment of exercise. In addition, the ‘Nordic Park’ winter sports competence centre at Lake Ritzensee, with its 150-kilometre network of cross-country ski trails, circular hiking trails and natural ice rink, offered countless activities. The programme also included an ice disco and a cross-country ski test.
Nordic cuisine under ‘green’ conditions
Away from the sporting activities, the Chill-Out-Lounge offered a cosy atmosphere. At the snow bar, visitors could savour Nordic cuisine with a barbecue and dishes from the ‘Ritzenhof - Hotel und Spa am See’.
As in 2018, the ‘Nordic Park Experience’ was also organised as a GREEN EVENT SALZBURG this year. The organisers adhered to special guidelines during the organisation and implementation to make the event as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. Among other things, attention was paid to the use of regional products, waste avoidance and the conservation of resources.
‘Meet and greet’ with Stefan Schwab
Another highlight of the ‘Nordic Park Experience’ 2019: the appearance of special guest Stefan Schwab. The Rapid captain was on a short holiday in his home country and took the opportunity to delight his fans with a ‘meet and greet’ on 10 February.
