9th Regionality Fair Saalfelden: A day dedicated to regionality & sustainability

For the ninth time, Congress Saalfelden became the centre of regional producers and their products for one Sunday.

Under the usual motto "Regional products in the spotlight", a total of 28 exhibitors presented the wide variety of products on offer in the Saalfelden Leogang region and the surrounding area on 14 April 2024. From wood and ceramic crafts, textiles and accessories to foodstuffs such as sausage and cheese products, herbs, schnapps, jams and home-brewed craft beer, there was plenty on offer for the almost 900 visitors of all ages and tastes.

Trade fair shines with diversity and numerous new exhibitors
Held for the first time in 2014, the organisers of Saalfelden Leogang Touristik and Congress Saalfelden have once again succeeded in keeping the trade fair fresh and up-to-date in its ninth year. With a total of ten new exhibitors and a large number of long-standing exhibitors, this year's edition stood out with a diversity like never before. For example, the Fürstauer butcher's shop provided tasty samples, which could be combined with fresh craft beer from WOIF right next door. A few stands away, visitors could also admire products made from alpaca wool from Pinzgau Alpakas, embroidered accessories from "Garnhex", lovingly crafted bonnets and headbands from "stitched handmade" and Peter Rattensperger's handmade spice mills made from local wood. Lovers of genuine rarities and traditional handicrafts got their money's worth with the "Ois Hausgmocht" fish casserole as well as the vintage car exhibition by the Pinzgau Vintage Car Club and the Pinzgau fences by Anton Sommerer in front of the Congress. This day of regionality was rounded off with a varied supporting programme - D'Zrupftn, a local music duo from Saalfelden and Leogang, once again delighted visitors with their musical accompaniment, while Austrian Tapas, Lebenshilfe Saalfelden with coffee & cake and Misssi Alpeneis once again took care of the physical well-being. The organisers also created exciting new features for the youngest visitors to the regional fair with a large play area and a continuous children's programme.

Saalfelden Leogang lives sustainability: regionality fair as a flagship event
Saalfelden Leogang has recently been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for Destinations and shows this great commitment to sustainability in its events: "The regionality fair is very important to us as a region - it is the most important event in Saalfelden Leogang, which focuses on regionality and sustainability. An area that we have been able to steadily develop in recent years with a variety of projects and measures. That's why we want to make the trade fair not only better every year, but also more and more sustainable in line with the theme," says Theresa Eder, project manager of the regionality trade fair at Saalfelden Leogang Touristik, emphasising the great relevance of sustainably organised events. For this reason, the trade fair was once again held this year under the Green Event Salzburg certification in order to think even more sustainably when planning events and to conserve resources.
