Together with "Make-A- Wish UK" and partners of Saalfelden Leogang Touristik, a dream has become reality over the past few days.
Jack, a keen mountain biker from Portsmouth (England), is 15 years old and has been suffering from bone cancer for two years. After numerous chemotherapy treatments, he is now on the road to recovery. One of his greatest dreams has always been to pedal in the Bikepark Leogang. On 13 September, his dream came true - Jack travelled to Austria with his family for five whole days to discover Saalfelden Leogang. At the hotel's invitation, Jack and his family checked into the Hotel Salzburgerhof in Leogang and enjoyed four nights in a wonderful ambience. He experienced pure action with the Elements Outdoorsports bike school, which gave him tips and tricks in the Riders Playground. Sport Mitterer provided him and his family with top bike equipment. Thanks to the Leoganger Bergbahnen, he was also able to explore the entire bike park free of charge and ride some of the tracks. At the weekend, Jack also visited the Biketember Festival in Saalfelden Leogang. Here, the best downhillers in Europe battled for important points in the iXS European Downhill Cup and kids got their money's worth on the varied trail around the Ritzensee. Jack travelled home on Sunday with many new impressions and a big grin on his face.
Many thanks to "Make-A-Wish UK", the Hotel Salzburgerhof Leogang, the Elements Outdoorsports bike school, Sport Mitterer and the Leoganger Bergbahnen, without whom such a fantastic event would not have been possible.
