ALM:CULTURE: The cultural highlight in SalzburgerLand

As part of the Salzburger Almsommer, the annual ALM:KULTUR event series will start in July in Saalfelden Leogang, which for the first time has been officially awarded by the SalzburgerLand as “Green Event Salzburg”.

Under the motto “Tradition meets modern” every Friday from 14 July to 8 September* art and cultural projects will be held on the surrounding alpine pastures of the Saalfelden Leogang region. From traditional music and jazz to art and literature, six alpine pastures become cultural hotspots between customs and future music thanks to this extensive offer.

Concert "PARIS LODRON MUSIC ENSEMBLE" on the Steinalm
July 14, 1 p.m., Steinalm
In 1987, the ensemble, now well known far beyond its borders, was founded by Salzburger Reinhold Wieser. Concert tours have taken the five enthusiastic thoroughbred musicians around the world since 1987. The ensemble has made a name for itself especially for its charming and funny performance with very high musical quality on many stages of the world.

Concert “SAIN MUST” at Biberg
July 21, 1pm, Berggasthof Biberg
The duo SAIN MUS is committed musically to the creation of idiosyncratic sound worlds, exploring the instrumental possibilities in an emotional way. The two musicians do not limit themselves to musical standards, but produce exciting new sounds from supposed opposites. They are true masters in creating both elegant and dreamy music as well as wild and energetic sounds and have already been guests in Saalfelden Leogang several times.

Concert “Tyrol Music Project” at the Argenbauernalm
July 28, 1 p.m.
The Tyrol Music Project is hard to put into a drawer. When asked what kind of music the four artists from the Tyrolean Unterland make, they say: "Everything we like!" In addition to numerous own compositions, they sing and play swing from the 20s, tangos from the raucous Buenos Aires, romantic musette waltzes from Paris, scrap music from Vienna as well as rhythmic folk dances from the Balkans. Despite the diversity of their program, the four musicians always retain their distinctive sound with the traditional instruments violin, accordion, Styrian harmonica, guitar, double bass and trombone.

Concert “LONG BEARD BROTHERS” at the Peter Wiechenthaler Hut
August 4, 1 p.m., Peter-Wiechthaler HUT
The LONG BEARD BROTHERS are committed to the sound of days gone by not only with their old-style look, but also with their extraordinary cast of banjo, guitar, double bass, drums and four-part vocals. From Irish folk songs, country and bluegrass classics to acoustic rock and rockabilly and good old rock 'n' roll, they present a distinctive mix of five decades.

“Basket braiding course” + concert “Sunshine Musi” on the Steinalm
August 11, 1pm, Steinalm
The instructor Manuela Achleitner shows the participants of the basket weaving course how to make small gift baskets with rattan. The homemade products are incredibly versatile, whether in the home, in the garden or as gifts for friends and relatives. Musically, the course is accompanied by sounds of chopping board, harp and guitar – the ladies of the Sunnschein Musi come from Leogang and Saalfelden, together they have been playing classical folk music and traditional “stubnmusik” for many years.

Concert "D'ZRUPFTN" on the Sinnlehenalm
August 25, 1pm, Sinnlehenalm
“Music that moves” – under this motto, “D’Zrupftn” Lukas Hairhager and Georg Blatzer have been making music together for many years. Both come from musician families from Saalfelden Leogang and grew up with Alpine music from childhood. As “D’Zrupftn”, the two musicians cover a wide range of musical genres with accordion, guitar and vocals, ranging from traditional folk music to mood and entertainment music to well-known Austro Pop hits.

“Literature & Art” on the Sinnlehenalm
September 8, 1pm, Sinnlehenalm
Emmi Klinger and Gerlinde Allmayer inspire the audience with their performances. “Des spen, wo nid jeda sped” is the motto of Emmi Klinger from Niedernsill. The young Pinzgauerin has dedicated herself to the slightly different sounds and plays many songs by her idol Herbert Pixner. Swing and Boogie are not to be missed in the program. The writer Gerlinde Allmayer masters the humorous play with language as well as the serious examination of it. "Mia gfoit, won't the audience ba my shifts laugh and think ku," says Gerlinde Allmayer with a wink.

All concerts and creative workshops of the ALM:KULTUR take place only in good weather, there are no replacement dates. Admission to all events is free and no advance reservation is required, however, a table reservation is recommended at the respective alpine pasture.

*On Friday, August 18th, there will be no ALM:KULTUR event due to the 43rd Jazzfestival Saalfelden. The program can be found at: www.jazzsaalfelden.com
