ALM:KULTUR in Saalfelden Leogang - A summer full of art and culture on the mountain pastures

The Salzburg Alpine Summer is just around the corner again and invites you to a unique series of art and cultural events under the motto "Tradition meets modernity" every Friday (except 23 August) from 1 pm from 12 July to 6 September 2024.

ALM:KULTUR transforms the surrounding Alpine pastures into cultural hotspots, where concerts and workshops will inspire visitors with a mix of tradition and music of the future.

A diverse line-up is on the programme:

Örgenbauernalm: "Mundharmonika Quartett Austria" concert
Date: 12 July 2024, 1.00 pm
An incredible firework display of virtuosity, playing energy and joy in performance. Witty interpretations of hits from pop and popular music, upbeat classical music, fine folk music and, of course, the great western and film tracks are offered.

Sinnlehenalm: "Hand on heart" concert
Date: 19 July 2024, 1.00 pm
Honest, soulful and harmonious - that's probably the best way to describe this young duo from the Tyrolean lowlands.  A close friendship, two voices and a guitar - simple and down-to-earth music in dialect characterises the two of them.

Berggasthof Biberg: "Trianam" concert
Date: 26 July 2024, 1.00 pm
Trianam is a folk band from Salzburg that delights audiences with its unique sound and live performance. The members of Trianam bring different musical backgrounds and influences to the band, resulting in a fascinating mix of tradition and innovation.

Seealm: Painting course with Stella Löninger
Date: 02 August 2024, 13.00 hrs
In this workshop, participants will conjure up beautiful landscapes with acrylic paint on canvas. The alpine pastures in particular offer the most spectacular views. Under the guidance of Stella Löninger, beginners and advanced painters alike can incorporate their impressions into a unique work of art and, of course, take their artwork home with them afterwards.

Peter Wiechenthaler Hut: "Long Beard Brothers" concert
Date: 09 August 2024, 1.00 pm
The LONG BEARD BROTHERS are not only dedicated to the sound of days long gone by with their old-style look, but also with their unusual line-up of banjo/mandolin, guitar, double bass, drums/percussion and four-part vocals. From Irish folk songs, country and bluegrass classics to acoustic rock and rockabilly to good old rock 'n' roll, they present an unmistakable mix from 5 decades.

Sinnlehenalm: "Mountains & Plains" concert
Date: 16 August 2024, 1.00 pm
The multi-award-winning Hungarian violinist Zoltan LANTOS and Klaus FALSCHLUNGER, one of the most prominent European sitar players, lead their instruments into an extensive dialogue. With their new programme "Mountains & Plains", they explore Western and Eastern musical traditions together.

Seealm: "Project Lederhosn" concert and "Macramé" creative workshop
Date: 30 August 2024, 1.00 pm
Two young Pinzgau musicians who combine the best of two worlds. Alex Marath is a virtuoso on the Styrian accordion and a gifted guitarist with an unmistakable voice. On the other side is the original and world champion spoon tapper Hannes Eder. The man who was almost born in lederhosen and has been on stage since early childhood. The band that has everything in store for visitors, whether it's Oberkrainer, folk music, Austropop or evergreen.
On the threads, get set, go: together with Verena Grubelnik, participants get to know the world of macramé. Using simple knotting techniques, a wide variety of woollen accessories such as pendants or wall hangings are conjured up.

Steinalm: "Michl Trio" concert
Date: 06 September 2024, 1.00 pm
The Michl Trio has been skilfully spanning an arc from traditional Alpine folk music to blues, rock, pop and klezmer for 13 years. Each time, the trio succeeds in playing music that is finely tuned to each other and with great enthusiasm, delighting the audience.

The Almen offer a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and tradition of the region. In addition to musical performances and a marvellous panorama, guests can also enjoy traditional Austrian cuisine.

Important: The events are free of charge and do not require prior ticket booking. However, it is possible to reserve tables at the respective mountain huts. In the event of bad weather, the events will be cancelled; the decision will be communicated in good time via the website and social media channels.

*Due to the 44th Saalfelden Jazz Festival, there will be no ALM:KULTUR event on Friday 23 August.
