International Yoga Day 2017 in Saalfelden Leogang

International Yoga Day was celebrated worldwide on 21 June 2017. From India to the USA - and also in Saalfelden Leogang - international yogis came together for yoga sessions.

At an altitude of 1,760 metres, yoga enthusiasts in Saalfelden Leogang took the cable car up to the Asitz to practise yoga in the fresh mountain air and in front of a magnificent mountain panorama. The terrace of the AsitzBräu became the venue for International Yoga Day in glorious weather. Dr Ramakrishna from Bangalore/India led the small, cosy group of 25 participants. Afterwards, Indian cookies and tea were served on the terrace of the Alte Schmiede - also at the mountain station on the Asitz. A nice idea: Dr Ramakrishna had brought the incense sticks, which were given as a gift, directly from India. The Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board co-organised the event and was represented by marketing manager and authorised signatory Ka-tharina Auer. The locations were provided by the Altenberger host family - they own the wellness hotel "Der Krallerhof" in Leogang, the AsitzBräu and the Alte Schmiede.

The wellness hotel "Der Krallerhof" has a long tradition of yoga. Dr Ramakrishna has been coming to the Best Alpine Wellness Hotel from India for over ten years to offer guests yoga, anamnesis and holistic therapies "at first hand". He can look back on over 25 years of professional experience and runs his own Ayurveda clinic in India. He specialises in Pancha Karma treatments and yoga. Dr Ramakrishna has also developed over 60 Ayurvedic-based preparations, which he produces himself and sells worldwide. The autumn Ayurveda week with Prof. Dr Ramakrishna at the Krallerhof takes place from 27 October to 5 November 2017. Yoga, anamnesis and individually tailored Ayurveda treatments are on the programme twice a day.
