New Nordic Puzzle Rally opens at Nordic Park on January 16, 2022

Cross-country skiing has become increasingly attractive for families in recent years. The Nordic Puzzle Rallye, the new attraction in the Nordic Park, awakens the enthusiasm for cross-country skiing, especially among children. In a playful way, outdoor kids get a feel for the snow and can really let off steam – whether skating or in the classic style. In addition there are tricky questions and at the end a special goodie is waiting for each participant.

The cross-country skiing destination Saalfelden Leogang is expanding its cross-country-friendly offerings for families with the new Nordic Puzzle Round in the Nordic Park. The puzzle tour starts directly in the Nordic Park and leads around the Ritzensee. In addition to a good portion of fun on the cross-country skis, you not only spend a winter day with family and friends in the open air, but also train the condition and logical thinking during the scavenger hunt. The puzzle round is suitable for all levels of cross-country skiing and for children from the age of six. For free participation you only need a valid cross-country ticket. Children up to and including 14 years old can use the entire cross-country skiing network in Saalfelden Leogang free of charge with their parents. And with the Saalfelden Leogang Card you can travel on the trails free of charge throughout the region. You will receive the guest card automatically upon check-in at a Saalfelden Leogang Card partner company. The idea for the rally came from cross-country skiing and biathlon coach Mark Hauser (Nordische Mittelschule Saalfelden), it was implemented by the municipality of Saalfelden and the Saalfelden Leogang Touristik.

 

In the cross-country trail on a mystery tour 

What do you need for the exciting rally on the trail? In addition to the cross-country skis, which you can also easily rent in the sports shops in Saalfelden, there is a printed, weatherproof puzzle map at the starting point of the cross-country ski route. Together with cross-country mascot Leo we then go on tour. You will discover a lot of exciting and interesting things about the region as well as Nordic winter sports. Along the trail you will find seven stations with tricky tasks. Those who know the answers will receive one letter per station, which can be entered directly into the puzzle map with an attached punch. All letters form a slogan at the end. With the punched puzzle card and the solved answers, lots of goodies are waiting at the tourist office Saalfelden. You should set aside an hour for the puzzle round, it can also be done wonderfully with your peers.

The Nordic Park around the Ritzensee offers special winter sports experiences. Away from the slopes, you can experience the snowy landscape in a particularly intense way and have plenty of time to enjoy – from miles-long trails for cross-country skiers and biathletes, beautiful winter hiking trails, to ice skating and tobogganing.
If you’re looking for more action, you can visit the Fun & Snow Park. There are plenty of steep turns, jumps, a built-up slalom course and since this year even a new exciting course with 22 stations and obstacles – for snow fans young and old.
