With highlights surrounding the Downhill World Cup, a freestyle motocross show, the large Team & Expo Area and a live concert with a top band, this exceptional event has a packed timetable and is also the dress rehearsal for the 2020 Downhill World Championships.
Bike and ski - in the Saalfelden Leogang region, sports fans are spoiled for choice these days. Under the motto “April! April! - The way I want it”, the Leogang Asitzbahn is already transporting cyclists as well as skiers to the middle station on the Asitz. The first line of the Epic Bikepark Leogang is already open to bikers, whetting the appetite for the world's best downhillers, who will be guests at the Out of Bounds Festival at Whitsun.
Downhill World Cup for the 9th time
From 7 to 9 June, the Out of Bounds Festival 2019 in Saalfelden Leogang offers thrilling racing action, a varied supporting program, a look behind the scenes and the latest trends in cycling. The highlight is once again the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Downhill, which is an exciting fixture in the bike region's event calendar for the ninth time. The world's best downhill riders, including Aaron Gwin, Rachel Atherton and local hero Valentina Höll, will once again cause a sensation at this year's World Cup dress rehearsal on the “Speedster” World Cup course.
FMX shows and Team & Expo Area with special insights
In addition to daring descents on downhill bikes, the Out of Bounds Festival will also get down to business on motocross bikes. Experts Luc Ackermann, Kai Haase and Gerhard “Jerry” Mayr will wow the crowds on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 in three freestyle motocross shows with front flips, tsunamis and more.
The festival weekend also offers the unique opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of professional mountain bike sport. In the Team & Expo Area, interested visitors can look over the shoulders of the riders as they prepare for the races and the mechanics as they fine-tune their bikes. The latest trends and products from exhibitors will also be on display here, ready to be scrutinized in detail.
Celebrate the sport of biking in style
The Out of Bounds Festival 2019 also has a lot to offer when it comes to partying. On Saturday evening at 8.30 pm, the live act “John Diva & The Rockets of Love” will be performing in the finish area at Bikepark Leogang. The shrill rock formation in 80s style comes from California and follows in the footsteps of rock icons such as Van Halen, Aerosmith, Scorpions and Guns N' Roses.
