Saalfelden Leogang once again top training destination
Once again this summer, some of Europe's top clubs are taking advantage of the excellent training conditions at the foot of the Leogang Steinberge.
Not only since the preparations of the Hungarian national team for Euro 2016, the training camp of the South Koreans for the FIFA World Cup 2018, or the Football Doctors' World Cup 2017: Saalfelden Leogang has made a name for itself beyond the borders as a top destination for football training camps. This summer, some of Europe's top clubs are once again taking advantage of the excellent training conditions at the foot of the Leoganger Steinberge mountains.
Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg pitched their tents last week, while record-breaking Polish club Legia Warsaw spent the last few days in the Pinzgau football metropolis preparing for the national championship, which starts in just over two weeks' time - Saalfelden Leogang is once again a popular training destination for top European clubs in summer 2019. ‘The basic prerequisite is that, in addition to a perfect infrastructure, you also offer a great hotel industry and here we can score with high quality in Saalfelden Leogang,’ says Marco Pointner, Managing Director of Saalfelden Leogang Touristik. With the Turkish top club Besiktas, a team from the Bosporus is also organising its preparation camp in Saalfelden in July. The programme for the teams in SalzburgerLand not only includes training, but also international friendly matches.
