Save the Date: WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series 2025 in Saalfelden Leogang once again with a ‘super event’

Get ready for the ultimate mountain bike spectacle in Austria's largest bike region, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn.

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup from 5 to 8 June will be the first stop of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series 2025, that hosts Cross-country-, downhill-, and enduro-athletes in one “super event”.

While the Cross-country elite will kick off the action in Araxá, Brazil, in a fortnight's time, the Enduro and Downhill riders will have to wait until mid-May, when their respective UCI World Cup season starts in Pietra Ligure, Italy, and Bielsko-Biała, Poland. All UCI World Cup athletes will finally be united for the first time at the “super event” in Saalfelden Leogang, where the UCI World Cup circus will unleash its full force.

Saalfelden Leogang, proud holder of the UCI Bike Region label, already pulled off an epic super event in 2023 – and now it’s gearing up to welcome over 1,000 athletes from 30+ countries back to Salzburger Land this year. Local hero and Downhill rocket Vali Höll surely has great memories of that 2023 showdown – after all, that’s when she finally cracked her Leogang curse and clinched her first UCI World Cup win on home soil. Fast forward to today: as reigning UCI World Champion and overall UCI World Cup winner, she’s got her sights set on the Leogang hattrick.

“My home UCI World Cup in Saalfelden Leogang is always something special. It's an absolute highlight of the season that I really look forward to. Not only because all my friends and family are there to support me and celebrate with me, but also because the organization and atmosphere are perfect. Winning a UCI World Cup at home for the third time in a row would be an absolute dream.” – Vali Höll

Alongside Vali, local hero Laura Stigger also has fond memories of the Saalfelden Leogang UCI World Cup events. In the last three UCI Cross-country World Cup races over the Olympic distance, the Austrian racer finished constantly with a strong third place.

“The races in the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series are all top events. But racing on Austrian soil is something very special. I'm always cheered on by numerous friends and fans here. That gives me an extra kick of motivation. I have a lot of positive sporting memories of Leogang. Of course, my goal this year is again to fight for the podium places. As always, the motto is: ‘Full throttle’.” – Laura Stigger
