Stoabergmarsch24: the 24-hour hike between Tyrol and Salzburg

The Stoabergmarsch24 is entering its fourth round from 25-26 June 2016. 40 kilometres through the imposing Leogang and Loferer Steinberge mountains are on the programme for this year's 24-hour hike between Tyrol and Salzburg.

"Stoaberg" is what the locals call the impressive Salzburg Limestone Alps on the border with Tyrol and Bavaria. Every year, the Stoabergmasch24 is organised as a classic 24-hour tour in the Leoganger Steinberge mountains. 40 kilometres and 4312 metres in altitude lie ahead of the participants when they set off from Lofer at 9am. Where exactly the route takes them will remain a secret this year, however. Only this much is revealed: the finish will be in Leogang. Culinary and musical delicacies and relaxing massages will be provided during the breaks. The reward for all the 24 hours of exertion will be wonderful evening and morning moods, magnificent views of the "Stoaberg" - and the good feeling of having exceeded your own limits.

Date: 25/26 June 2016
Start: Lofer
Finish: Leogang

  • Alternative date: 2/3 July 2016 (in case of bad weather)
  • A shuttle back to the starting point will be organised.
