Finding and retaining employees is becoming increasingly important in tourism. This is why the Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board has launched an extensive project on the topic of employer branding. The kick-off event was a complete success: almost 200 employees took part in the "Take off" event on 17 and 18 December.
The "Take off" event at the start of the season had two objectives: On the one hand, employees in tourism-related businesses in Saalfelden and Leogang were to be familiarised with the high service standards that make the region so successful. To this end, service expert and author Sabine Hübner was recruited to provide ideas, training, initiation and inspiration.
On the other hand, the participants were offered a mountain and winter sports experience and got to know the two communities and their holiday offers better. The outdoor programme was presented by professionals so that the participants could perfectly explain the possibilities open to them. One or two particularly lucky participants were even able to tell what it's like to float down from the mountain into the valley on a paraglider. The event participants had the chance to win a tandem flight from Eagle Eye.
Encouraging enthusiasm for tourism offerings and service quality
"We are certain that this first-time offer will promote enthusiasm for the region as well as an understanding of its values and perfect service quality, which may give us an edge over other tourist destinations," Marco Pointner, Managing Director of Saalfelden Leogang Touristik, is convinced. "The take-off will not remain a one-off event. We will ensure sustainability and offer companies and their employees the opportunity to explore topics relating to service quality in greater depth throughout the year. True to the motto: Service is not a project. Service is an attitude." A special boarding pass for the "Your Future" seminar series was created for this purpose.
The training groups consist of a maximum of 20 people and will be organised by Sabine Hübner (www.sabinehuebner.de) and her team on seven days in 2019. The tickets for the seminars are provided by the companies for their employees.
