The ‘Club der Freunde’ has a new concept and presents the wines of the 2019 Saalfelden Jazz Festival

Contemporary jazz and experimental musicians are not the only ingredients of the Saalfelden International Jazz Festival's recipe for success. Behind the festival is an association without which the jazz festival would not be possible in this form - the ‘Club der Freunde des Jazzfestivals Saalfelden’.

The club's primary goal is to give the Saalfelden Jazz Festival the regional, national and international status it deserves due to its importance. This includes better anchoring the Saalfelden Jazz Festival throughout Europe and making it accessible to a broad public as a cultural programme. The club's concept has been adapted to make it even more attractive. As a thank you for their great support, members now benefit from a variety of advantages such as discounts on all ticket prices, free admission to the Wednesday concert at the Ranch, catering vouchers for the new ‘Club der Freunde Lounge’ and much more. Please see the attached PDF for details.

As is well known, wine enjoyment also needs to be learned - which is why the members of the ‘Club of Friends of the Saalfelden Jazz Festival’ take on the honourable task of selecting the right wines for the jazz festival every year. At this year's annual general meeting on 3 May, invitations were sent out to the ‘Weinkistl’ run by qualified sommelier Georg Fürstauer. The passionate jazz listeners tasted their way through the finest wines. A total of twelve wines (six white wines and six red wines) were available to choose from, with the 2018 Grüner Veltliner - No. 11 and 2018 Zweigelt - Heideboden coming out on top against strong competition. The choice of white wine was exciting, as there was a play-off for the first time. In the direct comparison, however, the Grüner Veltliner - No. 11 prevailed against the 2018 Gemischter Satz from the Bründy-Rudolf Bründlmayer winery in Feuersbrunn.
