Kickoff for a strong employer brand at the Saalfelden Leogang Tourism Day

Finding and retaining employees is becoming increasingly important in tourism. This is why the Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board is now launching an extensive project on the topic of employer branding, which TVB Managing Director Marco Pointner will present at the Pinzgau region's Tourism Day on 26 November 2018 from 5.30 pm at Congress Saalfelden.

The kick-off event for the project for employees will take place on 17 and 18 December: On these two days, everyone who is new to the winter season, taking on a job in retail or the service industry, will be invited to an "Employee Opening" by their employers.

 

Employee opening open to all companies with a connection to tourism

The event is aimed at all tourism-related sectors of the economy, emphasises Marco Pointner: "With this interesting training opportunity, we also want to convey the feeling that we are all working on a joint project when we provide services for our guests and customers."

 

The two-day event is primarily intended to familiarise seasonal workers from tourism businesses or staff in retail or service companies in Saalfelden and Leogang with the tourist, cultural and economic offerings and to learn more about customer service and guest care in short workshops.

At the opening, employees not only learn a lot about the region's tourist, economic and cultural offerings, but also get the feeling of being welcome in the region. The trainer is Sabine Hübner. She is an expert in service culture and an author. She knows tourism not only as a consultant but also from her family, who had a holiday guesthouse in the Salzkammergut.

 

The tickets are personalised and limited to a maximum of 200. The price is €75 per person; this contribution, which is subsidised by the Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board, is paid by the respective employers.

 

Strategic considerations for a strong tourism employer brand

"For us, 2019 marks the strategic relaunch of a project to strengthen the employer brand of the entire tourism industry in Saalfelden and Leogang. We all know that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified and committed staff. That's why we want to support our member businesses with joint activities." To this end, there will be an umbrella campaign, which will be developed jointly by the Saalfelden Leogang Tourist Board with Plenos, an agency specialising in employer branding in Salzburg, service expert Sabine Hübner and a group of interested member businesses. Marco Pointner will present his thoughts on this at the Tourism Day on 26 November.

Befragung der Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter geplant
Geplant ist unter anderem eine Befragung des Personals von einigen Mitgliedsbetrieben, um Ideen für einen permanenten Verbesserungsprozess zu erhalten. Die Ergebnisse dieser anonymen Umfrage werden dann in einen Maßnahmenkatalog einfließen.

 

Your Future training programme

An important part of the employer branding project is the "Your Future" training programme, which will be launched next year under the direction of service specialist Sabine Hübner. This series of workshops for employees will alternate between service presentations and active components. "We are convinced that well-informed employees will improve the quality of advice and support provided to customers and guests, which will increase satisfaction on all sides," says Marco Pointner.
