Family Adventure at Asitz: Skiing Fun for All Ages

Up the mountain, into the fun! Our ski day at Asitz is packed with highlights: from thrilling runs on the Skimovie course to exciting speed checks and adventurous funslopes. And for the little ones? Perfect practice lifts and a children's area where they can learn to ski in a playful way. Of course, a cozy hut stop is a must - because winter sports make you hungry! Curious about what our perfect ski day looks like? Read on and get inspired!

The Early Bird

Our ski day at Asitz in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn starts promptly at 8:30 AM at the Steinbergbahn. The modern 10-seater gondola takes us up to 1,762 meters, followed by the Asitz summit lift to reach the start of the new Fisherman’s Friend Skimovie course. Once there, we scan our ski pass, and off we go: exiting the "Fisherman’s Friend" start house onto a winding and challenging descent.

Once Is Never Enough

Anyone with kids knows that this course won’t be skied just once. The Muldenbahn comfortably takes us back up for another round. Lena is always excited because the seats are heated. To keep track of how many runs we’ve done and to relive the experience at home, everything is recorded and can be viewed later using the Skiline app by entering our ski pass number.

I love jumping over the ramps in the Nitro Snowpark & racing down steep slopes.

Speed Check: Who’s the Fastest?

Anyone who knows us knows that standard slopes aren’t enough for the Streitberger family - we need a bit of speed and action! So, we head over to the speed check course and challenge each other. Just like on the Skimovie course, we can check our times afterward, and a great souvenir photo is taken!

My favorite run is at Asitz, and I also love night skiing at Schantei.

Every Beginning Is Hard

At the Asitz mountain station, we try out the practice lift. It’s perfect for younger children who need a bit more practice but still want to enjoy the sunshine high up in the mountains. Down in the valley at the Asitzbahn, there’s Leo’s Kinderland for those first steps on skis. Our kids have also always loved skiing at the Schantei lift in Leogang’s village center. Night skiing and the new Funcross course at Schantei are always a highlight.

Culinary Break: Refueling in the Ski Hut for the Next Run

Action and fun are a priority for our kids, but food is just as important. The crisp winter air makes us hungry and thirsty, so we take a short break in a ski hut. The kids’ favorite meals? Schnitzel with fries or Germknödel, along with hot chocolate or lemonade. Fully recharged, we hit the perfectly groomed slopes and head back toward the valley, soaking in the breathtaking mountain scenery and shining as brightly as the sun.

I love the slopes at Steinbergbahn because of all the little forest trails. The new funslope is amazing too!

High Five for the Funslope

To wrap up our fantastic family ski day, we race through the new funslope at the Steinberg run. Waves, bumps, and curves challenge us, and we try to hit the high-five hands along the way. A thrilling experience for all of us!
