Family winter vacation with the Saalfelden Leogang Card
A winter vacation with the Saalfelden Leogang card can be described with one phrase: full of contrasts. The opportunities range from skiing and solving a riddle while cross-country skiing to enjoying the time here. Especially, when you have the Saalfelden Leogang Card, which is the guest card of our region, it is of great advantage to you and your family.
Sunday: Welcome to Saalfelden Leogang!
You can look forward to a week full of action in the winterwonderland of Saalfelden Leogang. However, the first day is a relaxed one. After your journey and the check in you can ascent the Asitz mountain either with the Asitzbahn cable car or with the Steinbergbahn cable car for free with your Saalfelden Leogang Card. One ascent and descent is included per stay. At the top you can enjoy a tasty lunch or coffee and cake in one of our rustic mountain restaurants. Furthermore, you can enjoy a stunning sunset at the mountain, before descening again.
Mobility tip: If you have a Saalfelden Leogang Card, you can use the skibus between Saalfelden and Leogang for free - even without your skis.
Monday: Skis, shoes, poles and a fantastic snow!
Before you can go skiing - of course, you need a suitable material. Our tip: At the sport and skishop Sport Simon in Saalfelden, you get 10% discount on the whole ski rental with your Saalfelden Leogang Card. Got skis, shoes and poles? Then here we go to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn! There are Snow Trails and trails through the forests, especially for the kids. And have you already discovered the Speed & Movie Trail?
At Monday evening a Mystic Torchlight Hiking Tour takes place in the context of our winter experience program. Together with a guide you hike through the cold winter night. There are several things to explore. By the way, the Mystic Torchlight Hiking Tour is also included into your Saalfelden Leogang Card.
Tuesday: One day is not enough
When you are on winter vacation, of course one day of skiing is not enough. That's the reason why today is your second day of skiing. At the L6 Muldenbahn chairlift there is the Nitro Snowpark, where you can romp around and experience your first small jumps. If you are brave enough, you can even try the GoPro Bagjump!
Wednesday: Breaaaak
After two exhausting days of skiing, you definitely deserve a break and a day full of recreation and relaxation. Take a walk through the shopping city of Saalfelden, have a look at the different shops and enjoy a coffee or a meal at one of the restaurants or cafes. With the Saalfelden Leogang Card, you are entitled to several reductions in many shops and restaurants.
Batteries recharged? At the evening you can be a little sporty. Up to the Biberg. From the starting point at the car park of the restaurant Bockareit-Stubn, there is a shuttle which brings you to the mountain restaurant Huggenberg for free with the Saalfelden Leogang Card. From there you hike up to the top of the Biberg, where the mountain restaurant Berggasthof Biberg is located. There you can rent a toboggan and toboggan down the long run.
Thursday: Time for a change
Today you need skis again - but instead of alpine skis, you need your cross-country skis today! Time to discover the Nordic Park in Saalfelden. Here you find a real winter sports paradise at the beautiful lake Ritzensee. This is the ideal place for beginners of cross-country skiing and for those, who like to enjoy the stunning landscape on cross-country skis. At the Fun & Snow Park you can easily train your coordination and balance on your cross-country skiing skis. There are 22 stations, which you can complete with your skis. This is fun for the whole family! If you still have some energy left, you can discover and hopefully solve the Nordic Riddle around the lake Ritzensee. Get yourself a riddle card at the starting point of the illuminated cross-country skiing course and while on the course around the lake, try to answer all questions correctly. When you have solved the riddle correctly, you can go to the Tourist Office in Saalfelden and then you get a small surprise. The use of all cross-country skiing courses in Saalfelden and Leogang is included in your Saalfelden Leogang Card and therefore free of charge.
Friday: Time flies when you are having fun!
The main goal of this week is to try and learn new things and even today this is your motto again. At the morning, you can go ice skating at lake Ritzensee. The lake Ritzensee freezes every year and the ice is beeing prepared by the municipality of Saalfelden for you to go ice skating! This is really a dream. For beginners there are even small plastic animals, which help you to make your first steps on ice.
At the afternoon, you can visit the bookbindery Fuchs. There you can create your own small little present of your vacation in Saalfelden Leogang. At the bookbindery you can book serveral different courses concerning the topics paper and print and with the Saalfelden Leogang Card you get 10% reduction on the whole program of courses.
Saturday: On top of Salzburg
Today there is a special trip planned for you, before you go home again tomorrow. Today you drive to Kaprun, to the glacier Kitzsteinhorn. You do not need your skis today, because you can discover so many things on top of the mountain, even without your skis. The best thing is that you have an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. And even here you get 10% reduction on the ascent and descent with your Saalfelden Leogang Card.
Sunday: Home again!
The week is over and you have to go home again - hopefully with many beautiful memories. See you soon in Saalfelden Leogang!
